DYCD After School Programming
Learning Outside of School Time
InnovateEDU creates next generation learning experiences beyond the regular school day, providing afterschool programming for middle school students in the Downtown Brooklyn area. Our current program operates out Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School, and is offered with support of the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development School’s Out NYC (SONYC) initiative.
Through daily small group and team enrichments, students explore new fields and learning spaces in the arts, STEM, literacy, and athletics. Our students are members of competitive debate and robotics teams, are producing original theatrical and filmed work, and are learning to code, write, dance, and design. By affording middle school students the space to engage in hands-on learning and to work alongside professional makers and thinkers, we are helping to foster young leaders in our schools and community.
The DYCD After School Programming operates Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday each week between the hours of 3:45pm through 5:30pm.
DYCD programming is provided free of charge.
